Moved in... and Flying high!

 
We’re settling in nicely to our new digs at 3111 Broadway—if you haven’t been by to check us out, please do!  Also, make a mental note for our grand opening which will be coming in a few weeks with live music, refreshments, and general frivolity.  We also have loads of new arrivals for you to check out—lots of Vespa “S”s, LXVs, the uber-retro Capri Blue LX150, and the unspeakable hotness of the GTS Super 250.  Also, for those of you whose tastes run to motorcycles, we have some new bikes to tickle your fancy, including the new automatic Aprilia Mana 850, and the very hard to find Aprilia Caponord 1000.

250s, 400s and 5s,  Oh My!!

Vespa Alamo Heights now has the full range of the Piaggio MP3: 250, 400, and  our  500s .  We have both 250s and 400s on the showroom floor, with a wide range of colors in the warehouse.  The 500s, unfortunately, have been slow to arrive, and so we have started a waiting list for customers who would like to reserve one.  For more information, send us and e-mail at vespa78209@yahoo.com.  And until you get a chance to come by, here's a cool promo of the MP3 500 (known as the Gilera Fuoco or "Fire" in Europe) to tide you over.

Higher Gas Prices=More Scooters on the Road
With gas prices at historic highs, more and more people are turning to scootering as a low-cost, enjoyable alternative means of commuting to work, running errands, and enjoying themselves on the weekends.  Lots of new scooters on the roads means lots of new scooterists, so we at Vespa Alamo Heights would like to offer the following safe riding advice:
- Protect your Melon! 
Always ride with a DOT approved helmet to keep everything between your ears in case of an accident.
- Meet Fellow Riders!
Networking with fellow scooterists through sites like www.alamoscoots.com or www.modernvespa.com can give you important tips an insights, and let you know about meet-ups and rides that will improve your skill and enjoyment.
- Service your Ride Regularly!
Even though scooters require less maintenance than most other vehicles on the road, it is still important to keep your bike in good operating order.  The single most important factor to stay on top of?  According to our technician, Kevin Johnson, it's tire pressure.  Keeping your tires properly inflated reduces tread wear, improves gas mileage, and gives you the best traction to keep the rubber side down and the shiny side up!  And remember-- safety is No Accident!
